Welcome to the MeshBox Project!
We will be creating wireless MeshBox (aodv compatible) networking software for
as many low cost platforms as we can, such as PC, XBOX, PlayStation2, MAC, Soekris, WebSurfer, Gateway, old PCs, I-Opener, WebSurfer, etc...
We will use 802.11b/g or other methods for transmission, storage can be HD, flash,
DiskOnChip, or whatever is available on the particular platform.
We will be looking to create a global authentication server (using RADIUS) that will work hand in hand with the NoCat Captive portal (for wireless authentication), as well as 802.1x (in between meshboxes).
We will be looking to create a wireless instant messenger, that uses triangulation to locate/chat with people on your buddy list. Something similar to Trepia, but maybe a hybred based off of Jabber (which is what Trillion currently uses). This would allow for MeshBox community users to talk/chat with one another, and see nearby buddies. It would also be interoperable with Yahoo!, AOL, MSN, and ICQ
We will be developing a MeshMap that will dynamically map MeshBoxes (in near-realtime) based on their current lat/long position (using GPS way points & triangulation).
We will also be modifying file sharing P2P programs, particularly Gnutella style
aps, hoping to create a fast connecting file search mode for roaming and "drive by" mobile
file sharing.
The project is all open source, Linux based, GPL.

Developers:
Development is done using the Patch Manager or CVS here on sourceforge. Anyone
can post a patch, no permission is necessary. If a few people
put in a few hours each it's amazing what can be done. Give us a hand, or check out our current developer's list here.
Anon CVS access is available, just click on the CVS link at the top of this
page. You can create a patch file from CVS and upload it to the patch manager to
be included to the project.
Click on "Project Summary" above to see the project files.
Upload them as a attached file please.
